Linda is going to leave us after lunch (following our boat ride) because it's her birthday weekend, and her family wants her back

But not before we order her to have a Hatpy one

This exquisite Tiffany dome is the largest in the world.  It is in the ceiling of The Cultural Center, the former Chicago Public Library; the entire building is old world exquisite

I knew this Library well, since it is across from the doctor's office where my Sister had her shots

By chance (and good luck) we wind up eating at the world famous Lawry's Steakhouse...

...where our hats are a hit (as they were EVERYWHERE)

..and where we got to hold the Kunsholm puppets that used to perform when the Restaurant was a Puppet Theater (once again, something meaningful from my childhood)

SATURDAY morning.  Time to shop the Magnificent Mile

Mimi checks out the linens at Bloomingdale's

Archie and Kathye toast their table setting

Mimi models a $600.00 hat at Neiman Marcus

Kathye shows the sales lady how to tie a scarf properly

Archie is wearing a Phillip Tracy hat

If you look REAL closely, you will see it costs $7,000.00.  NO, it is NOT my Promenade hat

Mimi is wearing a mere $3,000.00 Phillip Tracy

I am sitting at the outdoor portion of Terrazo Piano, the Restaurant at the new Modern Wing of The Art Institute.  Why we didn't take a full table shot, I don't know.  The next few photos show the unbelievable panorama in front of us.  It was at this Restaurant that a gentleman appeared from no where and said, "You Ladies have made my day."  Should had him take our picture!

We finally go inside the Museum, where we have more fun than I think we're supposed to. We are standing in front of blank canvases, so we decide to strike a pose and be the "art work" on them.

We had only driven past our famous (huge) Picasso Bird (which was right across from my orthodontist's office).  So we did the next best thing and took our picture next to a replica.  When it first appeared, Chicagoans weren't sure we liked it.  Naturally we came to love it.

And today we were loving the incredible collection of art.  When you go to Chicago, The Art Institute (and the Modern wing) is another MUST.

We did, however, take a quick break and headed to Millennium Park (adjacent to The Art Institute) to catch the end of the U.S./Ghana Soccer Game

The day before, our taxi driver was from Ghana

Back to having fun with art
