COMMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS
(The Hats of The World Luncheon is heretofore referred to as HOWL)
Ambassador Simona Miculescu, Permanent Representative of Romania to The United Nations and co host of HOWL:
(Letter to her United Nations Ladies)
Dear Ladies,
I would like to thank all those of you who managed to make it to our Annual Hats of the World Lunch. We had a lot of fun, we looked gorgeous, so we were HATpy and we had the right HATtitude! The Hat Ladies from Charleston were fabulous and generous in surprises! We all proved that FASHION and COMPASSION match perfectly!
(Letter to The Hat Ladies)
You are so welcome! I have to thank you so much for your enthusiastic, charming and generous partnership! I still receive thank-you notes and words of praise from the UN ladies. All of them were very impressed with you and your hatsisters! And I might sing at our next event – the annual lunch of the Secretary General with the women ambassadors – your song that was soooo sweet! We really are a pair and I thank God for having met you and for starting this wonderful friendship.
Don Rongione, CEO of Bollman Hats and provider of hats to the United Nations guests:
It looks like it was a great time for all! Well done to you and everyone who planned and orchestrated the event.
Ryan Seth, CEO of Hats in The Belfry and President of The Headwear Association:
I want to thank you for the invite to yesterdays luncheon. What a wonderful experience! It was an honor to meet all of the UN Ambassadors as well as everyone from the Hat Ladies. Oh, and the food was delicious too!
Ellen Christine, Ellen Christine Millinery: Archie, I'm still recovering, so I know you must be in bed, with an eyemask on while someone feeds you chocolates! What an experience it was, indeed. I can't tell you how much I appreciate being included in the free-for-all "Hat Ladies Take Manhattan." Thank you once again. I had a ball.
The Hat Ladies:
Bravo, well done. This year was even better than last year. Everyone knew what to expect & was more relaxed. You girls doing THE CHARLESTON was the real ice breaker. When Simona brought out her guitar & started singing, it was the icing on the cake. This shows people are the same, no matter where they were born or come from. It is how we are raised that makes the difference. We can get along or not. This is our choice.
Thank you for hosting another beautiful Hats of the World luncheon in New York! Last year was great but I really think that this year was MOST Exciting!
I could see that everyone again really enjoyed themselves. The Wendy Williams show was quite special! I know that Grace really enjoyed everything and having sold the wife of the UN General a hat was a great treat!
I thoroughly enjoyed our time in New York. It was great getting to know my fellow Hat Ladies and to spend time with my nieces. I was all over town!!
Wow! what a fantastic time I had at HOWL! Can't thank you enough for arranging this trip for the Hat Ladies - and what a wonderful way to get to know others in the group - they are a fabulous group of women and I'm so proud to be part of them.
Yes I must say that the second time around was even more wonderful than last year. I am worn out and I know that you are too but it was worth with it. I would like to personally thank you for arranging the visit to Ellen Christine's and also the visit to the Hat Exhibition. Getting a chance to meet a well known NY Milliner and having her accompany us to the exhibit was fantastic. You don't get to do that everyday.
It was great getting to know some of the new Hat Ladies and spending tome with some of the regulars. Thanks again for all you do for us. I know that it gets stressful at times, but it all works out in the end. Looking forward to next year!
NEXT YEAR: I had such a great time throughout the whole trip that I think I'm suffering from "post NYC HOWL Stress Disorder!" I'm already starting to save my money for next year's trip!
Will be looking forward to next year. Your Happy Hatsister
Thanks again for all your hard work making the New York trip such a wonderful experience for me! I'm ready to "meet you by the big clock" next year!
I agree, the HOWL was even better than last year! My cheeks hurt from all the laughing!?! Unless health, family, or financial reasons prevent it, I can't fathom why anyone would want to miss out on such a fabulous time. (I'm going to kill you, however, for introducing me to Samuel's Hats...).
