Call 1-888-382-1222 from your cell phone to get on the National Do Not Call list for that phone
Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the electrical outlet. If you are charging it and a call comes in, unplug it from the charger and outlet.
Do not follow instructions to hit 90# from any one, including someone calling and claiming to be an AT&T Service Technician; it gives them access to your long distance service
Do not respond to a caller claiming to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the Scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo; your identity was just stolen.
Phone callers asking for your Social Security number are becoming bolder and more threatening. Treat them as SCAM and do NOT respond
